growing family.  One evening, during a particularly rough shift, I found myself out in back of the restaurant, crying my eyes out next to a trash bin. Yes...it was as beautiful as it sounds. I didn't really even know what I was crying about specifically.  I just knew that I was missing out on some very important family time, working my Tootsy's to the bone, and making virtually nothing to show for it. So instead of accepting defeat, I wiped my tears, lifted my head and decided enough was enough! That was the minute that I decided to change my life, and the lives of my husband and children forever.   

 

On my way home from work that night, I was talking to my Dad who owns his own business and he had always told me that working for yourself is the only way to freedom.  I decided at that moment I was going to start my own business....and Tootsy's Footsies was created!

 

I had always worn toe rings, and I liked the way they made me feel - feminine, flirty, maybe a little sexy, too.  I'd tried just about all of the toe rings on the market, and I just couldn't find the right one.  None of them really fit properly, or the open backs kept snagging on my carpet or my socks, and they were always pinching my toes.  Ugh!  Finally, I thought that if I was ever going to get the toe ring I wanted, I was just going to have to make it myself - so I did!  Now I could also customize the look, the fit, and the finish - perfect!  The next step was easy - I knew EVERY woman was going to want toe rings like the ones my husband and I were creating in our garage.  Soon, we decided to start making the world more beautiful - one toe at a time!  We started selling these handcrafted toe rings at festivals and WOW..the response was amazing!  You can now find my family and I at festivals most weekends, or in our garage making toe rings - but you will definitely not find me crying behind a restaurant ever again! 

 

Update!!!   So, Covid came in March, all big events were canceled and our world got totally turned upside down . We were out of work for 10 weeks. Not knowing where to go from there, I was totally freaking out. Thankfully my hubby knocked some sense into me and said it was time to open a store front. So, with lots of uncertainty, we open our store in beautiful Saint Augustine on May 30th. we have been so fortunate to not only survive during a pandemic, but we have thrived! Thank you to all of our amazing customer that have supported us over the years and thank you to all of our new customers we have met in the last few months. If you're just finding us and have any questions please don't hesitate to message us.
